Bullard Cal Ripken’s Night at the Grizzlies is a special night when the teams all get to parade around the field, in uniform, get shown on the jumbotron video, before a real grizzlies professional baseball game, get autographs, then watch the game together.  It is tremendous fun!  The kids all sell tickets to the game and get prizes for the most sales:

 ·  MUST TURN IN YOUR TICKET MONEY TO THE SNACK BAR AT YOUR GAME FIELDS (Figarden Elementary, Malloch Elementary or Figarden Loop) by the end of evening games on WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, for the league to buy the tickets from the Grizzlies and for prizes.

·  Players turn money in to coaches, and coaches deliver the entire team sale to the snack bar by the due date.

Cost:

$140 for Babe Ruth players who are not in the 2012 Prep League.
$70 for Babe Ruth players who are playing in the 2012 Prep league.

Please also bring a copy of the birth certificate if the player is new to Bullard Cal Ripken or Bullard Babe Ruth.

Games will start in mid-May and end in the end of June.

Game Schedule | Picture Schedule

This will be one of the most fun days of the year for you (along with the Grizzlies Game Night on May 12).

1. Every team in Bullard Cal Ripken will play a fun game on the Grizzlies game field.  Your game schedule is attached to this e-mail.  This is a fun game for all levels of play, from t-ball to Prep League.  The game does not count in your standings, and it is coach pitch for the older age groups (no kid pitch except for Prep League).  The fields will be set up for a fun game, so the kids can hit home runs and have a good time (we’ll configure several game fields out of the large Grizzlies field so we will play several games at once and allow for home runs into the stands).
2. Admission is free.  Bring the entire family and your friends.
3. We WILL have our snack bar open in the left field area at the Tecate pavilion.  Please come eat a hot grilled meal and have a cold drink while you are there.  Our league will be running the snack bar in the left field area, in the Tecate pavilion.
• Note that there will be an Ovations snack shop opened as well, in their indoor snack bar.  The league is NOT a part of the Ovations snack bar and does not get any money from the Ovations snack bar sales, AND Ovations snack bar will not be selling hot grilled food (Ovations is competing against the league snack bar).  So, PLEASE VISIT THE BULLARD CAL RIPKEN SNACK BAR IN THE LEFT FIELD TECATE PAVILION AREA, AND DO NOT GO TO THE OVATIONS INDOOR SNACK BAR.
4. You will have your team picture taken at the Carnival at Grizzlies Stadium on Saturday, April 21.  Your team picture times are also attached to this e-mail.  Have all kids attend in full uniforms, and have all coaches there as well.  Remember that each player automatically gets one team photo and one individual photo as a part of being in our league, at no cost to the player.  You can purchase extra pictures if you so desire.  Whether you only get the free photos, or whether you buy extra photos, each kid will need to fill out a picture packet form.  Coaches are to pick up these forms at the snack bars where they play their games, and give them to the kids.  Then bring them, filled out, to the pictures on April 21.
5. Kid’s Fun Zone:  The Grizzlies’ kids’ fun zone will be open, with bounce houses, the rock climbing wall, kids games, and a lot of fun.  You’ve likely seen it at the Grizzlies games when you attend as a fan.  It will be open during our Carnival and was a big hit last year.  You can buy a wrist band at the Carnival for $10 for unlimited play all day.  All proceeds from the wrist band sales will go back to the league.  The wrist bands will be on sale at the Bullard Cal Ripken snack bar only, in the left field Tecate pavilion area.
6. Skyboxes:  The Grizzlies are allowing us to rent the skyboxes on Carnival Day.  You can rent a skybox for $100, with all proceeds going back to our league.  You can rent one for your entire team, eat your hot grilled food up in the skybox and watch the action in comfort!  Contact Hilda Barrett at Hilda.Barrett@unionbank.com and phone number 312-0987 for sky box information.
7. Scoreboard Messages:  The Grizzlies have graciously agreed to let our league families put personal scoreboard messages on the Grizzlies’ game scoreboard, for all in the stadium to see.  Run a message on the scoreboard for your team, for your child, or for a personal message.  You can buy the message the day of the Carnival for $10, and they’ll run the message throughout the day (such as “Good Luck 9 Year Old A’s”).  The sign-ups will be at the Bullard Cal Ripken snack bar in the left field Tecate pavilion area.
8. Volunteers:  Each team will need to dedicate a few parents to a two hour time slot to volunteer to help run Carnival.  We thank you in advance for your help.   The Volunteer list, with times and assignments, will be sent out shortly, and the contact is Hilda Barrett, at Hilda.Barrett@unionbank.com and phone number 312-0987.

This will be a GREAT event.  No pre-sales and no work required of our coaches and parents before the day of the event.  The Board will put everything in place.  Just come on out, enjoy a fun day of baseball on a beautiful professional baseball field, have a meal and enjoy yourselves.  We’ll see you there.

There will be four prizes to be won they consist of:

1.    Field Dugout Suit for 14 people (agreed upon date)

3.    Sky Box for your team at Carnival
4.    $ 200.00 team party credit

Dinner, live and silent auction, dancing and fun. Dinner included, drink tickets for purchase at no-host bar

Dress is casual. It will be a fun night! You will have great food, great company and great auction items.

EACH TEAM IN BULLARD CAL RIPKEN WILL BE REQUIRED TO DONATE ONE AUCTION ITEM WHICH WE CAN LIST AS HAVING A VALUE OF AT LEAST $50. This item will need to be packaged by the team and delivered by March 15, 2012, to the Malloch or Figarden snack bars when they are open for afternoon games (5:30 pm to 7 pm). There are no team sponsorship fees, but the teams ARE required to come up with either a live or silent auction item, package it for display and deliver it to the snack bar. There will be a fine for any team that does not deliver an auction item. You can choose any type of auction item you would like, from something you get donated for our auction (restaurant items, golf rounds, gift cards, etc.), to something of value you would like to donate (a Christmas gift you can’t use, a weekend at a property you own in the mountains or beach area, etc.).

This is an important fund raiser to help pay for the roughly $30,000 of expenses the league just spent on the Figarden fields, for equipment for the fields and on the web page, so your help is needed. PLEASE sell these tickets and attend. Limit is 300 people, so buy early.
